What about a very special and unique walking tour? The meeting point is at the iconic Red Tower ("Torre Rossa"). From there, we'll start our pleasant walk, along some historic sites in the city core, with 3 "food&wine" stops: a quaint bar/pastry shop, a very central wine shop and a highly appreciated wine bar. Over there we'll enjoy some of the most delicious and famous local products. Moscato d'Asti D.O.C.G & Barbera d'Asti D.O.C.G., probably the best known white and red wines in the area, will "accompany", together with other great wines, our tastings among local cakes, excellent cold cuts, cheese and other typical food, available in the very season.
I was born in Asti and I live here with my family. I am a professional tourist guide, focused on Piedmont. Above all, I actually love my city, as it's studded with so many jewels: arts, history, delicious local food and excellent wines. Thanks to my profession, I've learnt that discovering and enjoying what is "behind the scenes" is the actual Experience any visitor should live, by counting on a local, just at your side. And here, in my city, the funny thing is that acting like a local means tasting our food & wine gems; not bad at all!
1) Tasting at a pastry bar: a piece of local cake & a glass of excellent white wine. 2) Aperitif at a Wine bar: a mixed…
3) Tasting at a Wine Shop: we'll enjoy some of the greatest red and white wines in the area.
We'll visit some of the most iconic spots in the city, such as the amazing gothic Cathedral and the baroque City Hall, by walking along the marvelous and medieval core of Asti: a very interesting history and so many funny stories to be discovered! ..And then: food & wine, of course!
Asti can be easily reached from anywhere in Piedmont and in just 1 hour drive from Milan. Also the Italian western lakes and mountains, or the Ligurian coast are close enough to experience this tour.
