Morning session with Alex - Learn the ancient art of designing and cutting blocks to make woodcut prints. A light lunch will be provided by Alex and all dietary requirements catered for. Taxis will then take the group to Hoxton, east London. Afternoon session with Richard - setting and printing type. You’ll be working with your woodcut prints combing the process of letterpress printing to produce new brilliant and unique posters! Lunch, taxis, materials, inks and equipment will be provided for and are part of the ticket price for the day.
Learn two printmaking processes in one day across two studios with a team of brilliant artists. Combining both woodcut and letterpress. The morning session will be hosted by Alex Booker (Booker Print House) which involves the whole process of making woodcuts and printing in his Limehouse studio. The afternoon session will be hosted by Richard Ardagh (New North Press) in Hoxton and will explore printing with letterpress to produce the final prints and a chance to edition your new exciting artwork!

The day involves working in two exciting printmaking studios and being taught by a team of leading artist printmakers. Taxis will take you between studios at no added fee.
Please wear practical clothing and strong shoes (not sandals) to work in and anything you don’t mind getting messy in with ink!
