Enjoy a hike in rugged countyside, off the beaten track, and discover how a geological event millios of years ago gave rise to a river of salt! This circular route of around 8kms explores a section of a salt river, crosses ancient aqueducts, and takes in some spectacular rock formations. There is the possibility of finding fossils as we walk amongst rocks that are more than 200 million years old. This walk is not strenuous, with a total height gain of around 250m.However, you will need to be of moderate fitness and agility, and crossing the aqueducts may present difficulties for those who suffer from vertigo.there is one very short scramble which may require the use of hands as well as feet!
