Discover the art of sewing in a fun, laid back environment while sipping a glass of wine! This class is appropriate for beginner and intermediate students. We complete a new project in each class, so feel free to sign up for future classes too. All materials and sewing machine usage is included plus two complimentary drinks!
Sip and Sew DC was created in 2014 by fashion designer Cecily Stewart Habimana and sewing instructor Tisha Thorne. Both Cecily and Tisha have been sewing since they were young girls and wanted to spread their love of sewing throughout the D.C. Metro region. “Sewing is not only a special skill, but also an art form in its own right and a fun hobby, especially when you add a little wine to the mix,” Thorne says.
Come on up to the second floor! It's an amazing space with more 40 sewing machines and 2,000 square feet.
At the beginning of the class you'll receive an introduction to the sewing machine and then we'll start right on your project of choice (if it is just you and people in your group) or a pre-selected project.
