My aim is to show you how to be local for the day through food! Here is how it all works: Eat a “second” breakfast” in a busy, little café-bar. Visit a Spanish run deli to sample (and learn about) Spain´s famous Ibérian ham. Drop in on a family business which offers some of the best cheese in town! Enjoy a glass of locally produced wine or beer along with a modern tapa. Follow that with a visit to 100 year old bar to sample another drink and a tapa of course! Not to disappoint those with a sweet tooth, the last 2 stops include tasting a local Granada cake, well known in the city and dipping churros into deliciously, thick, drinking chocolate
Hello, I’m Gayle, a self-confessed food expert. I was born in Scotland but have been living in Granada for over 20 years now & I feel very qualified to be the local who will show you all about the food culture in this fantastic, hidden gem of a city. I love telling stories about Granada, Andalusia and a whole host of other Spain-related topics while sharing my Spanish experiences with you.
Breakfast, tapas All dietary requirements can be catered for
Beer, wine, refreshments Non alcoholic drinks offered as an option
We´ll start at a central meeting point (well away from "touristville"). All the places you´ll be visiting are where the locals go. The busy little cafe bar for breakfast is owned by a friend of mine. The deli is where I myself buy ham and other groceries. The old bar we´ll visit has some great history and anecdotes and I personally love the local Granada cake, it´s been made the same way since 1897
·This experience works better in the morning, 11am start. ·It´s best to do this experience on the first day in Granada ·I can change the time to fit your requirements but some details may vary
