(2-hrs Birding Experience) We will visit the White Mountains of NH in search of a wide variety of birds living or migrating through the area. We will visit the low-elevation northern hardwoods forest in search of the great number of wood warblers, vireos, and more. Guests can decide where we spend our time to add to their lifelist or to see some birds not seen often. Hikes into the high-elevation zone will require more than 2-hr experience, and guests should consider booking (at least) two consecutive sessions for the exciting high-elevation spruce-fir forest, which harbors a great number of boreal species (including the endemic Bicknell's Thrush (late May-July). If you do not see a date and time fits your schedule, send an inquiry or request to me. I might be able to make the schedule work for you or your group. Other related AirBNB Experiences offered in the region are Marginal Way Birding (Portsmouth, NH), Birding the Middlesex Fells (Boston, MA), Plum Island Birding (Newburyport, MA). Any of these can be substituted or scheduled. Inquire to find out.
In the mid-1990s, I moved to NH and worked as a bird observer in the White Mountain National Forest. I have lived in New Hampshire over 20 years and have explored most of the state. I hold university degrees in marine biology, evolutionary biology, and ecology. An avid hiker, birder, and experienced naturalist, I love to share my experience and knowledge with others. In 2016, I started my birding and guiding company, Open World Explorers. I serve as a birding coach to help aspiring birders improve their bird ID skills and knowledge.
