The worlds greatest Freedivers can hold their breath for 11:00 and dive to depths of more than 800ft on a single breath of air. Focus, athleticism, confidence, and calm are just a few of the many skills that must be mastered to excel in this demanding discipline. Top divers manage the task of remaining completely still and focused amidst diminishing oxygen levels and crushing water pressure. Sounds terrible right?! It isn't but also isn't realistic to most people. The purpose of this class is to show you that this same exhilerating stillness and silence can be found right here at the surface. This 4hr Class is an introduction to the fundamental principles of Freediving and highlights many of the essential aspects of this sport; breath control, mind control, and self awareness.
It's my belief that the clarity I've found through Freediving & Yoga can help others create a deeper interaction with their own environment. The knowledge I share is a reflection of my evolution as a practitioner of Freediving, Yoga, and Life. I treat every day as a learning experience and continue to seek out master level teachers in all disciplines. I'm currently diving to 90m/295ft and have a breath-hold time of over 6:30. I hope to compete at Vertical Blue 2018 this July in the Bahamas.

Our classes start in the yoga room with a guided meditation and asana practice. On the pool deck we discuss psychology and mental exercises for relaxation over smoothies or fresh juice and then dive into breath-hold exercises in the saltwater pool and finish with lunch from their award winning kitchen.
No prior Freediving experience is necessary. Transportation to and from Lumeria Maui can be arranged with 24hr notice. Sunscreen and light clothing for yoga are recommend.
