体験できること

We'll cover the history of flour milling in-depth and I'll clearly show how we got to the flour market available to us today. Then we'll delve into our current flour choices on the market and take a look at food labels from various markets together. I will also talk about the nutrition of flour and how to make choices that account for baking qualities + best nourishment. My goal is for you to find the flour you want for your perfect bread, so my job is to teach you what is available and how to make your own choices, rather than just tell you what to buy.

I have a home mill, so we'll briefly discuss home milling and how it's different than buying already milled flour.

I will leave time at the end of class to delve into questions I may not have covered, or ones that arise in the process of our time together.
Other things to note
It's not necessary to have prior baking experience to take this class; come with your flour questions or concerns, however big or small. If I don't know, I'll help you find out!

Adrian is very knowledgeable about flour and milling grains. She is approachable and encourages questions from participants. I highly recommend this experience if you are a baker or are interested in becoming one. This is also just a great source of information for anyone that eats!

I really enjoyed The Flour Hour with Adrian and learning about highlights, much of them surprising, in the history of wheat, its cultivation, processing/grinding and use. Even though I read about food and probably know what most of us do (e.g., whole wheat is better), the new information Adrian provided opened my eyes with some myth busting and interesting facts. Adrian is knowledgeable and enthusiastic, very personable, and tailors the session to the participants. My daughter gifted me this session and we participated together. I would highly recommend The Flour Hour to anyone who bakes bread, who is interested in learning more about flours, or who just wants to learn about food history and its contemporary relevance.

Adrian is absolutely the best for anyone who wants to learn about flour and bread. She was very knowledgeable and easy-going. The class was well organized. We analyzed the flour we had on hand and also dived into our geographic areas and local milling companies. I learned so much from the experience. Highly Recommend!

This class was advertised as a discussion of flour, but it was definitely more than that. Adrian talked about flour, but was able to personalize the talk about flour(s) that we use and how some flour is so much better than most store bought flour. In addition, she made time for individual questions that we had regarding baking, and bread making in particular. The class was scheduled for an hour, but she made sure that we had all our questions answered before the class was ended. HIghly recommended!

It was a fun and insightful experience. Adrian is very knowledgeable, she has in depth insights into different type of grains, the process of the grains, flour types and bread making.
