My team and I will welcome you over coffee or tea. Then, you will discover the P. Fender press from 1920, on which hats are molded and shaped. You will learn the different steps of making a hat, as well as a bit of history on straw from Ecuador—for Panama hats—and felt hats. At the showroom, I will explain my interest in hats and the concept behind my shop. Handmade and craftsmanship are values that are very important to me, which is why I chose to create my little store and studio in the same space—what I like to call my workshop. I started 11 years ago with my first shop in Paris, and now I have a new place, dubbed La Fabrique Générale, which I share with my husband.
Coffee and tea
We'll be at a new place in town—La Fabrique Générale opened its doors in December 2016 in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. Hats, shirts, gloves, vintage motorbikes, and designed and antique objects—but also workshops and many other things—are presented in this 300-square-foot space. Be curious and come on in.
