You will be collecting your bicycles at the meeting point where you will receive a safety briefing and a short class on how to operate a bicycle safely. You will then start your journey to the island by boarding a ferry, bringing your bicycles and belongings on board. They will be safely tied up while you enjoy the sun and the salty wind of the Straits of Malacca above deck. We will disembark and explore the Island by cycling along narrow roads between fishing villages. The guide will take you to unique temples on the island and provide a bit of history of how this fishing village came into being and what it has been transformed into. We will have lunch at one of the fishing villagers' homes far from the beaten path to have fresh seafood prepared by locals. We will also explore the local products by the fishing village where you can shop for dried prawns, anchovies, salted fish and prawn paste. During certain seasons, you'll have the chance to try fried oysters with eggs which the locals call "La la". Fresh sugar cane drinks will quench your thirst too. We will then return to the ferry terminal to make our way back to the mainland.
I have been cycling and traveling since I was a wee youngling. My passion for both hobbies has made me a veteran in exploring the countryside on two-wheels. I have cycle-toured in 6 countries and have done the Annapurna Circuit Trek solo with my own bicycle, crossing the Himalayan mountain range at a height of almost 18,000ft (5400m). I love the outdoors and spend a lot of time hiking, kayaking, rock climbing and camping.

We will visit the mangrove island where fishing villages are built on stilts. We will pay a visit to the local temples and show you how the prayers are conducted (and you can participate too!). We will eat at an actual home of a local who also specializes in cooking seafood freshly received from the local fisherman. There are many local industries to see as well such as how the locals dry fish and prawns, boatbuilders working on wooden boats.

The pathways on the island are generally very narrow so caution is needed for your safety. There are no cars on this island however, the locals here use e-bikes which are silent so, be alert and give way if they do come across your path.
