You can't visit Seoul without taking a hike on one of its historic landmarks—the Seoul Fortress Wall. I'll show you the many hidden gems that my foreign friends always enjoy while walking with me. We'll start our adventure at the Independence Gate and along the way, we will discuss the fascinating history of Seoul. Many Koreans don't even know this route well. Our moderate hike will take approximately two and a half hours, and we'll have plenty of opportunities to pause for photos and enjoy the views. I will also let you know the best spots to take stunning photos. Come alone or bring a friend, and make some new ones on this pleasant hike. I can send you a link with a video of my hike, if you'd like to check it out. I look forward to walking with you.
I am from Seoul and I have loved hiking my entire life. I've had many chances to make my own events, which I call "My Seoul Guide" so that foreign visitors can enjoy the city with a Seoulite. We've done many fun things together but my most favorite is always hiking along the Seoul Fortress Wall. This is an amazing experience and a nice way to see the entire city of Seoul at a glance from above. This iconic Seoul Fortress Wall hike happens to be one of the best, and I'd love to share my city with you.
Healthy snack I'll provide some energy bars.
Bottled water I’ll bring water to make sure we stay hydrated.
The fortress wall surrounding the city displays Seoul's past and present, along with its urbanization and nature. We'll meet at the Independence Gate at Dongnimmun Station and take Course 4, the Inwangsan Mountain course. We will then start our hike on the historic path that the Joseon Dynasty first built in 1396.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes, and no flip-flops. Note that no toilets will be available on the hike.
