We will begin by meeting at the famous Chicago landmark Cloudgate, referred to most people as "The Bean". This is located in the lively Millennium Park, one of Chicago's most popular spots. We'll snap some pictures of you and the rest of the group at The Bean and then begin walking to our next photo location from there. I can explain what it is like to live and attend school in the city, offer information about the locations we visit, and answer any questions I can about Chicago along the way. Although we have a general itinerary, we can stop whenever needed for impromptu photos! I know many locations both indoors and outdoors that I can take you and your group, no matter the weather. Overall, I want you to feel like after our walk/photoshoot that you have a better idea of Chicago as a whole and have gotten a local perspective on the city. I will bring my vintage polaroid camera with us on the tour and will take a picture of you or your group, which you'll be able to take home. In addition, 1-2 days after our photoshoot you will receive approximately 20 edited photos and all other photos unedited.
Hello! My name is Betsy. I am in my third year of college currently attending Columbia College, located in downtown Chicago. Although my major is graphic design, photography has been a side hobby of mine for years. After taking a photo class that re-ignited my love of photography, I now bring my camera with me almost everywhere I go, and specialize in travel photography and candid photography, but have done a bit of everything. I am most known for my digital photography looking much like film photography. I have only lived full time in Chicago for a year, but have been visiting and exploring the city for years prior, I would love to show and recommend my favorite spots around the city! *IMPORTANT* please contact me if the scheduled dates/times don't work for you and I would be more than happy to add a date or time to accommodate you.
I will be providing water for each guest in your group.
We will be stopping frequently to take many pictures of your group, tailored to the type of photos you desire (family photos,…
Some of my favorite spots to take classic Chicago photos are in Millennium Park, the Chicago Riverwalk, on the bridges crossing the Chicago River, outside the Chicago Theatre, and the Harold Washington Library.
Weather appropriate clothing
Make sure you dress for the weather! We will be active for an hour and a half, depending on the weather we may be indoors or outdoors but will definitely be walking between locations. General Photo Tip: wear simple clothing without large logos or distracting patterns for optimal photo turn out.
