Once we meet you will have the chance to enjoy a one hour ride from Salzburg to the heart of the Bavarian Alps. On the way you will see some of the highlights of the city and the mountains around. Once we reach the town of Berchtesgaden in Germany your historical adventure begins as you discover the route that the famous 101st airbourne division took. You will follow their steps into the Obersalzberg, the former Nazi fortification where many plans changed the destiny of millions. You will explore the underground bunkers, which will take about 45 minutes. Rediscover here all high ranking officers lived and gain insight about the life and happenings in the area. Some hidden locations in the forest tell the history of WWII in a very especial way, this will take us around 2 hours. After hiking around these locations we will conclude our adventure, use the public transport and get back to Salzburg.
I have always dreamed of being an explorer. To discover especial places that contain secrets beyond what the naked eye can see. I have been touring the mountains of the Bavarian Alps for more than three years looking for WWII ruins. My master studies in political science have given me the historical and political background to understand the decisions that were taken at Hitler's mountain retreat. My job is to bring history back to life and help you discover places forgotten by time.
Entrance to the bunkers is included.
All transportation is included from Salzburg to Obersalzberg and back. We will travel by public bus.
Can lend you trekking poles if you want.
