This is the best tour for one to get a full experience of both Mdina, the old capital city of Malta and its suburb Rabat. A professional, fully licensed tourist guide who has always lived in Rabat will first take you around the streets of Mdina past the most important palaces and monuments, along the fortifications of the city and also through the lesser known corners. We walk past the Cathedral, the noble family palaces and also along various places where Game of Thrones was filmed. After having taken the most instagrammable photos of Mdina, the tour proceeds on foot into Rabat where you discover the narrow winding roads which will eventually get you to the larger squares where the big churches of Rabat are located. Walking past the place where St Paul has lived while in Malta, we then get to visit one of the many catacombs in the area. We also walk into the more modern parts, past the schools, windmill and the beautiful Dominican cloister which we also visit to discover yet another amazing, little known story, in the history of Rabat. The tour takes you then along more narrow streets past more important buildings including community band clubs, 16th century churches and also some beautiful British architecture examples to finish off back at the gates of Mdina.
Showing people around the Maltese Islands is not just a job to me but a passion which I love passing onto visitors who join my tours. I also happen to live in Rabat and have worked on a volontary basis in various sectors of the community hence I can pass onto all participants aspects of the city which very few people are aqcuainted with. This will be the best experience you will get of both Mdina and its suburb Rabat with all their beautiful aspects.
Mdina and Rabat are considered to be one of the top locations to visit while in Malta. They have been of utmost importance in the history of the island apart from being one of the places in Malta which still preserves some of the most amazing cultural traditions.
