We'll explore the myterious history of the arrival of Chinese people in Havana and follow their settlement in the area. We'll stroll through an unique Chinatown, full of surprises and composed by a hidden legacy waiting for beign unearthed. We will visit local restaurants, galleries, the family social clubs where chinese people used to gather, and sports centers inside the neighborhood, including the Confucius Institute—an academic center that acts as a bridge to understanding the millennium-old culture and history of the Asian nation. We'll learn about the importance of the chinese heritage in the cuban culture and the work we do today for keeping it alive
I am a historical researcher with an strong chinese heritage in my family (even when I don't look chinese). I am passionate about the traces of foreign communities in Havana and believe in their importance in the national history. I want to share all that I've learned about my ancestors and my city with visitors to the area
