Take a scenic drive through rural villages to the incredible, karst-dotted Thalane Bay in the north of Krabi. After arriving, enjoy a coffee while we will prepare the equipment and study the tide tables. Get a short briefing on how to use the paddles before boarding the open kayaks. Start paddling a short distance through open water from the launching point to the mangroves forest of Ao Thalane. We will lead you through shallow channels, over submerged roots and even paddle right next to almost vertical limestone cliffs, towering above you. At times, stop paddling and just listen. Silence, except for occasional sound of cicadas and rustling of leaves overhead. The aerial roots of the mangroves are home to many crustaceans which attract game fish like snappers in these waters. Some parts of the journey requires you to negotiate sharp turns in tight spaces as you wave your way through the forest. Enter a large cave with stalagmites and stalactites. You can spot several species of birds and monkeys, in particular the crab-eating macaque monkey, and if you are lucky water monitors. Leave the cave, and continue through a lagoon on your way out from the forest. Surrounded by the limestone karsts, this spectacular seascape at this part of Ao Thalane is the filming location for many movies. Return to the pier where our driver will bring you back to the hotel, with lasting memories.
I am the founder of Sea Kayak Krabi, born and raised in Tha Lane, a small fishing village in the heart of native Krabi in Southern Thailand. Together with my younger brother, I wanted to offer an alternative income for the local isolated community among the fishing industry. That's why we started to guide tourists in small groups on a sit-on-top kayak through the beautiful bays and mangrove forests of Ao Thalane. Sea kayaking is the best way to get close to nature without damaging the environment. You can explore the diverse ecosystem, observe wildlife, and maneuver through mangrove forests, canyons, caves, and lagoons. Share some lifetime moments with us and you will get a great experience, creativity, diversity, quality and learning about natural history by sea kayak.
Enjoy a fresh coffee and seasonal fruit at the pier.
The entrance fee to the Marine National Park is included in the price.

Our unique kayak trip includes all kayaking equipment and life jackets from big to small child sizes. Before starting to…
You will depart by kayak from the pier at Nai Sa River and cross the amazing Ao Thalane Bay. Paddle in a small group along steep limestone cliffs and through the evergreen mangrove forest. Make a short stop at a small beach with a lush green backyard. Continue through narrow channels and through caves, and finally enter the impressive Ao Thalane. The mangrove forest and its inextricable network of canals is the breeding ground of many fish.
The activity program is subject to change due to the sea conditions. The best time to enter the deep canals of the mangrove forest is during full moon, because the tides are higher during that time. The tour is not recommended for pregnant women or people with back or neck problems.
