Be inspired by immersing yourself in a working artists studio in a fun atmosphere. Learn new skills with paint. On arrival, you will set up your paints and easel (provided) in the studio. We begin with a brief lesson on colour theory. From primary to complementary colours to developing triadic combinations. Choose an image/s to use as inspiration for abstraction. Using the colour theory as a basis, create an image from paints (bring own paints), using rollers, brushes, collage (materials, rough papers, hessian). There is the also the opportunity to try mixing colours with wax and ink sticks. Depending on how fast/large you work you will finish one or two pieces.
I have enjoyed working in the creative industries for over 30 years. First as an Interior designer, then later studying a degree in Illustration thus formalizing a lifelong passion in painting and drawing. I work full time as an artist and have a lovely positioned studio in a quiet part of the Norfolk Broads. As well as regular art exhibitions in East Anglia, I hold art workshops. I also offer comfy accommodation (https://airbnb.com/h/cherryt) giving some people the option to holiday and enjoy a class relevant to the local environment. (Big Norfolk skies, seascapes, Norfolk Broads). My passion is in creating abstract seascapes in oils. I am represented in a Galleries in Cambridge and Perth Scotland.
Tea/coffee/biscuits available at break-time.
Some rollers and collage materials will be provided to create texture. (otherwise bring own paints, brushes and canvas)
The art experience is within the studio. There is a wonderful resource of art books in the studio to inspire further inquiry or reference during the art practice.

The studio is on the Ground floor attached to the main house, accessible via small front door step. The local 'Community' pub offers delicious roasts on Sundays and good pub food for those who want a meal before or after the art experience. Open from noon everyday.
