We will start your adventure with our purveyor partners at Breaking Ground Farm located down the road from Melody's picturesque historic 1898 farmhouse. As our guests, you will be greeted with an apertif mocktail and begin a guided tour of the multiple acre farm, where you will learn of the seed-to-harvest complexities that go into bringing organic produce to the table. While on the tour, you will gather some of the most freshest and most beautiful produce that you have ever tasted, to be prepared for your family style meal. You will also receive a small token to show our appreciation for your supporting local farming. Next, I will introduce you to my farmhouse kitchen and show you how to make the secret "Holy Trinity" and the "5 Mother Sauces" of French cuisine, the base in creating some of my signature family recipes; such as jambalaya or eggs sardou and creamy grits.
Chef Melody Conner has always known the importance of food sustainability, having grown up tending her New Orleans native grandparents' backyard garden and sitting on a high stool preparing centuries old family recipes. Fast forward to September 2018; Chef Melody purchased a historic 1898 farmhouse with the intention to create a sustainable bed and breakfast and share her love for good food. Chef Melody's culinary background as a private chef is expounded as a 2011 graduate of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts and a Le Dames Escoffier scholarship recipient. Melody sharpened her skills and moved on to open two Atlanta area restaurants as an Executive Sous Chef, catering to a few celebrity clients, selected several times as a Food Network contestant, and a contributing partner with the infamous Atlanta Breakfast Club.
