Let's get your hands dirty and tie-dye a shoe that speaks your personality. No art experience required :) To kick-start the class, there will be an ice-breaking session to get to know everyone in the room. Guests are given bottomless coffee/tea and light snacks during the class. We will then proceed with the paint medium to use, the introduction of fabric dye, what are the other options you can use, after-care methods and so on. We will also talk about the color study and also color contrasts in order to see which method works best for creating your very own pair of fashion shoes. Once the shoes are dyed, we will dry the shoes and you can bring it home once it's ready. Be prepared to get your hands dirty, and try to refrain from wearing light-colored apparel as the dye will stain the fabric permanently. Aprons will be provided, however, dye stains will still appear in really unexpected areas. Make sure you are wearing something you don't mind dirtying. For shoe sizes, it will be best to inform a week ahead to avoid disappointment. The size guide will be attached for your reference. Kindly contact 012-7086225 or firstname.lastname@example.org should you have any inquiries. IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that the sizing is different from your normal shoe sizes, do measure them in cm, cross-check the given size and kindly email us at email@example.com
I am the painter and founder of MTMT Designs and MTMT Studios. I have been painting shoes since the year 2011 and have sold sneakers to more than 12 countries worldwide. I've also been teaching close to 250+ students, young and old, and have been collecting various exciting experiences throughout the years. I am recently also selected as one of the participants of the Young Art Entrepreneur Program under the National Art Gallery's initiative. I focus on instilling creative thinking skills among my students in order for them to create original works of art.
I will be providing local snacks that I grew up having back when I was a kid. Brings back the nostalgic feel for the place.
We'll have options for bottomless non alcoholic drinks like coffee/tea or even water! Soft drinks will be seasonal :)
You will bring home your finished shoes! Art materials are provided, so you may use it while you're here.
The workshop will be conducted in our shoplot unit located in the neighborhood. It's an old residential structure and we converted it into a modern and pop looking studio space. We also added a skylight roof for natural lighting, perfect for those who enjoy a suntan. It's a really instagrammable place to be at, so make sure you have your cameras ready.
A happy attitude and a smile! :)
We will provide the shoes for you, so kindly provide the shoe size at least 1-2 weeks in advance to secure your shoe size. Else you could also just bring along a blank canvas shoe from your own shoe collection.
