A Rhode Island native, but a San Francisco local since 2000. After living in London for a year post university, I decided to move to San Francisco and have never looked back. In 2011, I received my SF City tour guide's license, and founded Roam Local to share the love and passion I have for the City's charm, character, and charisma with the guests of San Francisco. My tour format allows for a very personal and engaging urban adventure that balances physically challenging routes with historical content and exceptional vistas. All of the tours have been designed to cover a considerable distance, multiple neighborhoods, stairways, and hidden vistas within one walk.
This tour starts at the Chinatown Gate and follows along the alleyways to an old temple and a fortune cookie factory. Next are the Stockton Street markets with the many exotic and fresh foods. Then to the cable car powerhouse and museum to see how the cable cars run. Up the stairs to sweeping views of the City and bay and the top of Russian Hill. Then we traverse down to North Beach and the haunts of the Beat Poets. The tour finishes at the gate.
