The Newport Back Bay is an inland delta that is home to a wide range of plants, birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, insects, and marine life. The Back Bay is one of the premier bird watching destinations in the entire country. We will be using state of the art stand up Hobie pedal boards. These boards are pedaled using your feet and steered using brake like handles. No paddlebording experience is required. They are very stable and easy to use. Before we head out, our staff will thoroughly explain to you how to use the boards on the water. We also have sit down pedal kayaks for those who'd prefer not to stand during the tour. Throughout the tour, be on the lookout for various species of birds feeding in the wetlands. We will provide binoculars as well as a birding chart for your reference. Our guides will also explain the ecology of one of the last remaining natural estuaries on the west coast. Due to the height requirement of the pedal boards, we can only accept guests over 12 years of age for this experience. The pedal boards have a maximum capacity of 250 lbs. Satisfaction Guaranteed. If you did not feel this was a full 5 star experience, please message me!

I have always enjoyed being on the water since I was little. I started my own tour operation after graduating from UCI to share my passion with my guests. I am a ACA certified sea kayak instructor and have been paddleboarding for over 10 years. My guides and I are Newport Beach locals and have been paddling these waters for many years combined.
1 x Hobie Pedal board for each guest (the boards will only take one guest each), 1 x Life Jacket for each guest, 1 x pair of…
We will be meeting at Southwind Kayak Center Rental Base (100 N Bayside Dr, Newport Beach 92660). Please refer to the map on this listing to access our location, as plugging this address to your GPS will only get you to the front of the marina. When you turn onto Bayside Drive from Pacific Coast Highway, you will have to turn left into Bayside Village Marina and head down the parking lot. We will be in front of Pearsons Port Fish Market.
This will be a moderately strenuous activity. Think of it as a mildly challenging hike. We also do not recommend it for those with knee problems, as the boards are pedaled with your legs. For those unable to use the pedal boards, we have sit down pedal kayaks available.
