We will meet in Union Square and walk the streets of my neighborhood, the East Village. On our two hour tour, I will point out iconic restaurants, statues, parks, bars, & along the way we will stop for a $1 slice of pizza & end with $2 or $3 beers! (Bar has full cocktails & other beers as well if you’d prefer that!) We will also discuss a brief history of the East Village, and the stark difference of some mainstay deli’s & bars versus the new Target & Trader Joe’s locations. You won’t want to leave the East Village after our tour once you know all of the things to see & all of the drinks to be had! When you book my tour, I will send you a list of ALL my favorite cheapskate (& other) activities in NYC (Not just in the East Village!). It includes tips on getting tickets to Broadway shows & the best souvenir shops.
I’m an actress who has been living in NYC for over a decade, but spent two years traveling. My travel made me want to create this experience, as most tourists in NYC never get to explore any sort of “backpacking” or “cheapskate” experience. My 12 years living in NYC, and specifically 3 years living in the East Village, made it fun to create this east village based tour. I’ve worked & played in this neighborhood & am excited to share lots of little Big Apple secrets. I started working as a tour guide at Wagner College while I was at school there & am so happy to be giving tours again! (I give a “Cheapskate NYC” tour as well on Airbnb, which is based in Midtown instead of the East Village.)
I’ll bring a water bottle for you
I always bring my phone & external batteries for guests to make sure your phone lasts for our tour!
