What’s better than a snowy day playing in freshly fallen snow in the Big Bear wilderness? If your adventure guide brings cocktails of course! Aside from being your nature guide on this trip into the best place for you and your family to play in the freshly fallen snow, I also provide Bailey’s with coffee for the adults. Which is my favorite thing to drink while frolicking in the snow. Our tour begins at the meetup point off of Highway 38. From there I will guide you to one of the prettiest snowy wilderness areas for great family photos, a short snowy hike and snow play. It’s a locals secret. There’s a great little hike we can do to an amazing view point to get snowy family photos to start the tour. It’s about half a mile each way. From there I will show you some nice hills for sledding and pretty areas for snow play. (And pass out Baileys and coffee for those 21 and older) I’ll hang out with your group for an hour to an hour and a half to answer any questions you might have about the Big Bear area and show you the best places to play in the snow, take great photos with snowy views etc. Dogs are welcome on this hike. Children five and younger are free. Please bring your own sleds. (I do not provide sleds as they often break)
I’ve been playing in the snowy Big Bear mountains for the past thirty years. When I was eight years old my mom told me to “Go outside and play” and I basically never stopped. I have hiked or mountain biked nearly every trail in the San Bernardino National Forest and know this forest like the back of my hand. I often take friends with kids out to play in the snow and know all the best kept secrets of the truly wild place; Away from the crowds.
Hot coffee with Baileys for adults 21 and older
We will meet on the corner of highway 38 and you can follow me to the snow play location in your vehicle. ( It’s a short drive) the roads are not very steep in this area and are well plowed. It’s not usually a hard area for most vehicles to drive in the snow. We will do a short hike to the viewpoint in the pine forest then I’ll show you a picturesque spot for snow play.
Definitely bring layers and warm clothes to play in the snow. There are no bathrooms at this location so yes, nature is the bathroom. I ask that my guests please don’t leave trash behind. I will supply trash bags.
