This is a perfect experience for those visiting Nassau by cruise ship. The first stop is one of my favorite beach-front restaurants. Here you will set up your easels and paint a scenic ocean landscape while listening to a custom playlist sure to get you in the island groove. Sample one of the Bahamas' favorite seafoods. Your Conch Fritters will be made to order and the beers are the coldest on the island. After a leisurely hour long art session and lunch, we take "the scenic route" back towards town. The second stop is the beach. If you are interested I have a paddle board, snorkels and flippers, as well as a kids kayak and vest for you to use. I love shooting photography and there will be plenty of opportunities for picture taking - no need for selfies here! For passengers traveling by cruise: At the end of the tour you have the option of either being dropped at your port of call or a short distance away where you can check out another one of my favorite spots - The National Art Gallery Bahamas. The Gallery is about a 15 minute walk from your port. As you head back to Bay Street visit the Graycliff Hotel grounds with its on-site cigar rolling and chocolate shop. The Sky Juice (a local drink consisting of gin, coconut water and condensed milk) flavored chocolate is definitely a fun souvenir!
I grew up in Nassau and returned home in 2016 after a few too many grueling winters in New York. Living abroad definitely allowed me to see my home with new eyes. I love this island, and I want to share this feeling with everyone! I work in design and marketing and love using painting and being in/on the ocean as a way to reduce stress and reconnect after hours of being on the computer. I feel that it quickly brings me back to my center, and allows me to be more present. I have worked in several creative industries - including fashion & jewelry design, visual merchandising, and event planning. My most satisfying job is being an artsy mom to my 5 year old son. My newest creative adventure is a wellness experience for women to heal through art. I do this by “telling a new story” using journaling, painting, and pottery techniques.
