We start off discussing some basics and then dive into making fantastic monster-y creations. I guide you through the process so your work is durable and stable but also encourage your innate creativity and imagination as we go... then we break for 15-30 mins while I clean up and fire your masterpieces (a great time to explore other studios a little or sneak off for one quick beer at a nearby brewery!)... then you return to glaze your works of art and take photos if you like - then we package them up safely for you to take home and love as a forever special memory of visiting the Arts District of NE Minneapolis!
Hello! I'm Anjee. I am a professional working and teaching clay Artist with a studio located in the heart of the NE Minneapolis Arts District. I’ve been hosting workshops for over 10 years. I create colorful, playful, joyous monsters and creatures with clay that almost always elicit giggles and smiles from onlookers of all ages! I LOVE to guide people to create from their imagination. My studio is located in an old industrial seed factory that’s been converted into hundreds of galleries, creative businesses, and working studios. We really know how to support the Arts here in this thriving community of working artist entrepreneurs! Our building is the first and most well known of many such converted spaces in the area which is also surrounded by tons of local breweries, distilleries, and restaurants of every kind!
Supplies and clay needed to create your art!
We’ll be meeting inside the historic Northrup King Building. An old, giant industrial seed factory converted into working studios and show galleries that holds over 300 professional artisans from furniture makers, to local clothing designers, to glass and metal workers that create stunning residential and commercial installations. I host these workshops during our open studio hours on Saturdays so you'll be able to see a lot of amazing art!
There are restrooms, drinking water (hot and cold), wheelchair access, and ample parking. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to book a private workshop of 5 or more. Themes/projects are listed on website. www.anjeemaicreations.com
