First you will learn to use your virtual hands in an Oculus Quest Virtual Reality tutorial that talks to you and gently walks you through getting used to the Virtual World, giving you plenty of time to practice using the hand controllers and buttons to point, grab, and manipulate blocks and paper airplanes and a lot of other fun objects in a simulated world. Children below 8 and dozens of adults completely new to Virtual Reality already did this the first time and got the hang of it right away. It’s not scary or difficult, nor makes you feel sick. Like trying to describe sight to a blind person, I can’t tell you what immersion in a Virtual World is like. You just have to “be there” and feel how real it feels to your body and mind, to understand it’s a whole new way of experiencing other places, real or entirely imaginary, and to talk to or play games together with friends from all around the world. After that, you’ll play the million-seller easy VR game that uses Star Wars light sabers like Samurai swords to slash flying blocks in time to the music, like Dance Dance revolution meets a video game - and its good exercise, too. If you have time and interest we could try a racket sports game where the type of ball and racket change after every hit (tennis, ping pong, golf, basketball, baseball, etc.), or any of several mediation Apps - e.g. moving your hands to learn Tai Chi.
Using and designing experiences in Virtual Reality (VR) since 1992, I’m one of the world’s leading experts in the present and past history of VR, it’s hardware, and use. The fun is trying the latest greatest VR headset - the Oculus Quest (only available since summer), and seeing or trying other experiences in the Oculus Rift (2015-18) or 3 versions of Samsung Gear VR (2014,16,18). Taking only 15-20 minutes at most, though longer if you wish, children below age 8 and seniors over 75 have all been able to have fun and get a lot out of the experience. I’ve given this demo to all my AirBNB Guests so you can read several reviews in their comments. Try visiting a simple version of The Matrix. Use your hands and walk around in a Holodeck. I’ll also give you a history of Virtual Reality and why it’s the exciting user interface of the future!

If you get sick in very simple Disney teacup rides or in IMAX movies warn me to not let you try anything too Adventurous in your Virtual Reality experience. Please let me know about what time you will arrive so I can Greet you, and message me when you see the Yale oval smartlock outside my door.
