We will meet at the Starbucks down town at 6pm and from there we will drive you up one of our local canyons. We have a few options for trails to sled on depending on the groups sense of adventure. When we arrive at the trail head we will hike for 1 to 3 miles. On the hike we can tell you a little about the Utah culture, other fun activities you may want to try, good places to eat, or whatever suits your fancy. Once we get to the top of the trail we will enjoy a little break with a snack and some hot beverages. After we've enjoyed our little break the real fun begins. Then we sled down the same trail we just hiked up. It's easy enough to slow down by dragging your feet and hands in the snow, but if you're really adventurous then you can keep your feet inside the sled and race down the winding trail. If you haven't ever done any sledding like this before don't worry it's easy to pick up and we'll give you some pointers. You can start off as slow as you like and speed up as you feel more comfortable. Once we get back to the trail head we'll load up the sleds and drop you back off at the Starbucks. The whole trip usually takes about 3 hours. If you are staying somewhere in the downtown area we can also drop you off where you are staying.
We are native Utahans. We have spent our lives in these mountains. We are very active and always looking for new adventures and want to share it with others. Between the both of us we mountain bike, rock climb, trail run, canyoneer, hike, road bike and ski. Certified in BLS and ACLS. ( advanced life support, and basic life support, CPR). I Host a 5 star Airbnb in SLC. We sled the canyons near Salt Lake several times yearly and have taken many people sledding for the first time in this area, including kids. We are excited to share this experience with people who haven’t had the chance to experience the Utah mountains in the winter. If you don't see a date available, please message us!
We will offer a hot drink and some snacks at the top of the hike
We provide all the sleds. We also have some extra gloves, beanies, yaktraks, headlamps, and helmets. They aren't all needed…
There are a couple different trails that we visit in some of the canyons near Salt Lake City. We can decide the night of which canyon best suits our needs based on the weather, amount of snow or ice and the amount of adventure the guests are seeking.
This experience is a lot of fun. Please let us know what warm clothes and equipment you will have when you book and we can help get you set up with the rest of what you need to make this a night you will remember.
