You'll begin your tour at a fun, little, outdoor shopping center made up of boutique shops, eateries, and bars where locals like to hang out. Indulge in some tasty bites from some start-up concepts while learning about the Downtown Project and the revitalization of Downtown. You'll make your way down Fremont East, a hip area consisting of neon signs, local bars, and trendy restaurants. You'll drool over a few crowd-pleasers at a scratch kitchen in the area. Stroll through Fremont Street Experience and grab a bite at our favorite food truck while you marvel in all the excitement from the light show, the street performers, and the zip line. You'll head off-the-beaten-path to try a few more local favorite restaurants and finish with something sweet. There are no cow tongue or chicken gizzards on this food tour! Tastings are familiar foods with a creative twist, interesting enough for a foodie lover, yet tame enough for the not-so-adventurous eater. You'll walk just over 1.5 miles in 3 hours. Walking is the best way to discover the charms of the city. Besides, you'll want to burn off all those calories! Unless you eat like a football player, there's enough food to replace a meal. After your tour, revisit some of your favorite stops for some shopping or grab a drink to partake in all the folly on Fremont Street!
I'm a true native, born & raised in Las Vegas. I've seen the city grow & evolve from graveyard specials, 99¢ foot-long hot dogs & $5 all-you-can-eat buffets into the celebrity chef and craft dining scene that it has become today. My first job at 15 years old was in the food and beverage industry and I've been hosting, serving, cocktailing, and bartending on and off the Strip from casual to fine dining to nightlife ever since. I now operate a small food tour company where I introduce visitors to popular, local restaurants, eateries, and hangout spots, hidden gems, and attractions for an intimate look into the city. My foodie friends, April and Shaun are also guides for this foodie adventure. They are both longtime residents of the city and equally excited to share their love for DTLV's restaurants, bars, quirkiness, and history.
