Learn about Japanese society and it’s people. We’ll explore backstreet near Gion area while stopping by my favorite shops. We'll then have lunch to learn about how food is made at a restaurant loved by local. So you make food sample by inspiration of real food you eat for lunch, please don't forget to take photos of that. After we’ll enjoy lunch, make a Japanese food sample. It’s a great for souvenir as they are not only real, but also cool and tiny (around 6cm or 2.3inch). You'll make fake ingredients and then cut, chop, and slice them as like real cooking and arrange on tiny plate. Finally add fake soup and sauce. It is the reason I started doing this Experience that many friends asked me “How to make it?”, “What is your favorite place in Kyoto?” , “Take me around cool Kyoto!”. So I’d love to spend time as if we’re friends.
I used to be an editor of foodie magazine in Kyoto for over ten years and am a freelance editor now. So I cannot count restaurants that I visited and interviewed. That is the reason why I can make very real samples. I also run a free visitor center; I sell my zines and have a free running group and suggest many ways to experience like a local. People who are thinking about moving to Kyoto like it.

We’ll meet up and walk around for 60 minutes near Gion and stop by cool shops and have lunch near Kiyomizu Temple. And then we’ll begin the workshop. The venue where we do workshop is an independent unique visitor center named “Bonchi Kyoto” which is renovated a Showa period style Tailor.
Vegan menu isn't available for lunch, but you can choose dishes without meat and fish like rice cooked with red beans. If you accept Fish soup stock, you can eat Udon noodles and Donbri bowl of rice.
