Together we will take a journey through Cinque Terre wines, starting from a short walk in the vineyards above Manarola village. You will have the opportunity to meet a local winemaker in his vineyard and hear from him what it means to work with the grapes and make wine in this vertical land. Then we'll move together to our cozy winery, located in the medieval heart of Manarola: here you'll be offered a tasting of 3 different types of local wines: a white (Cinque Terre DOC), a red produced in the Cinque Terre area and our special sweet wine - Sciacchetrà. Each glass of wine will be served with the right food pairing. At the end, you will realise the opportunity of going deep inside the world of the Cinque Terre wines and become a better connoisseur of the territory. Are you ready to start this unique experience?
Hi! For this experience your host will be Sara, a passionate wine lover and connoisseur proudly born in Cinque Terre who helps me to run this lovely winery! My name is Simone and since 2014 I have created and managed the scenographic Nessun Dorma, one of the most visited venues in Manarola. Then in 2018 I decided to do something more by restoring an historic cellar in the church square of Manarola and converting it into a cozy winery where guests from all over the world can taste and discover both local and Italian wines in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Sara's been studying hard to become a Sommelier and loves sharing with her guests all the information, stories and traditions she knows about the Cinque Terre wine and more. Her first goal is to help travellers to have an authentic and true experience of Cinque Terre!
Each wine you taste will be served with the right food pairing: White wine (Cinque Terre Doc) with pesto bruschetta - Red…
3 glasses of Cinque Terre wine (white, red and passito - Sciacchetrà) + water.
Together we will visit the vineyards of a local winemaker, above the village of Manarola. We'll learn how to distinguish the different grape varieties that make the Cinque Terre DOC wine. Moreover we'll show you how to build a dry stone wall and the method used to cultivate these vertical terraces overlooking the sea. Later on we'll go to our cozy winery located in the medieval heart of Manarola for a wine and food experience!
This experience is for people that like wine tasting and walking in the countryside. We recommend wearing hiking shoes and comfortable clothes.
