Sitting along the winding Val Susa in the Italian Alps is the village of Sestriere. It has earned an Olympic reputation, regularly hosting the FIS Alpine World Cup and was one of the main venues and villages for the 2006 Winter Olympics. Striking mountains surround the village that reach well beyond 2,000 meters, such as Monte Fraiteve, Monte Sises, Monte Motta. And as part of the wider Milky Way ski area that straddles the border with France, it offers an appetising amount of runs. This trip is designed for intermediate skiers who are comfortable on red runs. Our top target is to get you familiar with Sestriere, to learn a few skiing tips, and to discover the best in-bounds terrain available. Ideally we would ski together as soon as you arrive here so that you can maximize your potential during the rest of your trip. We will begin the day with a gentle blue that is suited to cruising and warming the muscles up. Capture the surrounding mountains as we continue onwards towards the Number One run, which is incredibly scenic and offers a few nice challenges. Then with our energy levels waning I’ll lead you to a cool and picturesque spot that is perfect for a group picnic. We can refuel, reminisce on the marked slopes, and get ready to return for a couple of more runs. If you are in a group of 3 or more then contact me to hear about an interesting discount.
