体験できること
Guests will meet up with me near the fossil quarry site. A short car ride and a very short hike to the location will give adventurers plenty of time to comb through the fossiliferous material and find some amazing fossils. Every single person who takes this experience will be guaranteed to see fossils and take some home with them! Hammer and chisel will be provided for the guests to use (although most fossils can be retrieved without tools). Water and light snacks will also be served. The rest of the time will be spent looking for fossils to take home!
Other things to note
This is an outdoor activity that will require guests to walk outside, over rocks, small boulders and at an incline. There is no wheelchair accessibility. Children will be able to attend this experience but must be monitored at all times by the parent or guardian. No restrooms available.

Wandering around the Las Vegas desert for 30 years has made me appreciate the wonder and beauty that this harsh setting has to offer but only for the keen of eye and worthy traveler. I have mapped out many locations in the Las Vegas desert to explore and hunt for fossils! Every location I know of is on public land where fossil hunters can collect to their heart’s content.

Scott was wonderful and knowledgeable of the fossils. We had the best time! My wife found a fossil that even Scott was amazed with! He answered so many questions and stayed out there with us for soooooo long! God Bless you Scott and your family! You shared so much with us and us you! We can’t wait to do it again next time!!

This was absolutely phenomenal. Scott is a really great host and we spent the whole time chatting like old friends! I was very bad at fossil hunting but he was very kind and insisted that I was doing great. He did enough digging for both of us and I really felt that he was a friend showing me one of his hobbies, it's clear that he loved finding fossils. He gave me all "our" best finds, you will definitely go home with a fossil or four, and he wrapped them up for my journey. He also stayed a little longer than advertised and I never felt like we were watching the clock despite the short duration.
One thing I really appreciated was that I mentioned I was vegan and even though it's only scheduled for an hour he brought me a whole bunch of dried fruit and nuts which he insisted I take with me when we didn't get to eating them - I ate them on my flight home and they were awesome. Normally I don'tget that level of attention from hosts so it was really kind!
As well as that I saw a review from another solo woman traveller saying that they felt super comfortable and I want to repeat that, alone in the wilderness (but near a highway) I felt completely 100% at ease the entire time.
I would recommend this without question to anyone who wants to find some fossils! It's something I've never done before and even though I don't think it's one of my talents, I had an excellent time. It's also extremely good value compared to other stuff out here - I think he mostly uses it as an excuse to go out!

So awesome! Do this! Safe, fun, lots of fossils to find!!! I would 100% feel safe going into the middle of the desert alone with Scott. He’s very kind and friendly. You never know if you can trust activities like this alone, especially as a female, but I wouldn’t hesitate. Scott is normal and easy to talk to, loves the fossils and does a great job of showing you how to find the best fossils. He even let us take his best finds of the day! He brought drinks and fresh made dried fruit for us we are still enjoying!

This was a really great experience. We had so much fun hunting for fossils. Collected trilobites and lots of other great finds. Scott was very knowledgeable and really enjoys being with others and sharing this passion. Would highly recommend.
