We will meet at the Poblado Metro station at 09:00 a.m, where I will pick up the travelers in my own car (capacity for 4 and their rucksacks). From there we will head to el Alto de las Palmas (route to the airport), we will take a detour to head to Truchera Charco Azul where we will park the car. This will take us approximately 30 minutes. From there we will begin our hike, we will enter into a humid forest where we will walk for about 60 minutes. As we walk through the forest, we will be following the river bank of la Quebrada Espíritu Santo. Along the path we will appreciate the diversity of flowers, trees, birds and butterflies. As we get deeper into the forest we will begin to hear how the sound of the water increases, until we arrive at a water reserve that has a natural pool and a beautiful waterfall with cold water. We will stay there for 60 to 90 minutes, depending if the travelers would like to swim in the pool, as well as having a picnic. Of which I will provide snacks, drinks and fruits for the participants. After visiting Charco Azul we will head back through a different route which is shorter but that will allow us to appreciate a different view. To finish, we will pick up the car and return to Medellin. It will take us approximately 30 minutes. Drop off: Poblado Station or Poblado park. Average duration: 4 - 5 hours Difficulty Level: Intermediate
I have lived all my life in Medellin, I have been involved with nature and wildlife by being part of a group of volunteers who clean the rubbish left on natural spaces that are constantly visited. What I want to offer is an alternative eco tourism by sharing the hidden gems that I have found in my years of hiking and MTB. I am a very motivated person with the ability of guiding groups thanks to my volunteering experiences; communicating properly in English and Spanish and sharing my knowledge about nature and the city itself. I have gained a set of aptitudes and knowledge through my degrees, understanding tourism as a positive way of improving the perception of a place and providing exceptional and memorable experiences to travellers. I lived in England for two years where I frequently practiced hiking, visiting Snowdon, Brecon Beacons.
