Mission Point Park is a great spot for beginner snorkelers and marine biology nerds! We will be snorkeling in Mission Bay, a calm, flat body of water that feeds into the Pacific Ocean. Being in the bay, we typically encounter small fish, interesting algae, and lots of invertebrates, including sea slugs, octopus, urchins, and sea stars! After a brief safety and snorkel etiquette talk, we will explore the area for one hour. I will point out and provide detailed information on the flora and fauna we encounter during the experience!
*If you are a non-swimmer, feel free to book a private tour and/or message me to see if this is the right experience for you. Sometimes guests can be overwhelmed by the water, but this is the perfect place to learn! I have hosted many non-swimmers and they have all loved their time on the water, just read some of the reviews below! Again, just communicate with me before booking and we can figure it out!

Mission Point Park is a peninsula surrounded by Mission Bay, a large flat body of water feeding into the Pacific. There are rarely waves and swell, making it ideal for beginner snorkelers and those who want to get a closer look at marine life!

Amazing 1st snorkeling tour! Matt was very thoughtful throughout the process including giving you all the info you need beforehand and explaining the ins and outs of snorkeling. He's super knowledgeable about all the creatures you might see, which is perfect if you are like me and have tons of questions about these adorable invertebrates. I'd definitely recommend Matt to anyone who wants to try snorkeling for the first time!

Matt provided my girlfriend and I with an incredible snorkel experience around Mission Bay. Before the experience, Matt was incredibly communicative and provided great tips and advice for us to make the most of our snorkel trip. When the morning came to meet-up with Matt, it could not have been any easier (again, he's incredibly communicative).
Matt's marine biology knowledge exceeded my expectations -- we learned so much about the animal and marine plant life in the area. Without Matt's expertise, we would have ignorantly floated by all of the creatures that call this bay home.
My girlfriend and I HIGHLY recommend spending the morning with Matt in the water. You will learn so much and gain a deeper respect for this body of water.

Had a great time on this experience! The waters in Mission Bay were calm and very visible. We saw a variety of marine life. Matt was accommodating (waited patiently with us when our group wasn't on time), personable, and knowledgable. Also took great pictures!
