You'll arrive at the Lavaloha Chocolate Farm where you'll be greeted with stunning views that stretch from mountain to ocean. We have a welcoming Visitor Center that offers our single origin chocolate, drinks and light snacks for sale, restroom facilities and an expansive porch for picnics and taking in the views. We are wheelchair friendly with portable ramps available. Engaging for guests of all ages, we offer a walking farm tour on sunny days and a riding tour on the not so sunny days, taking guests through the orchards for a ½ mile downhill stroll followed by a ride on the open-air mini bus back up the hill. After introductions, we'll head out onto the farm talking about the importance of biodiversity and the history of agriculture in Hawaii. When we reach our mature cacao orchards, we'll adventure into the trees to hunt for a beautiful ripe cacao pod and learn about cacao's special pollinators and varieties. We'll open and sample ripe cacao fruit straight from the tree and pod! From the orchards we'll head over to the chocolate factory where the cacao is processed, fermented, dried and roasted. We'll walk through the various stages of chocolate making and end up in our chocolate lounge where we'll enjoy a chocolate tasting complete with “off the menu” chocolate items available only to AirBnB experience guests.
