We will meet at Museo National de Bellas Artes at 10.30 am for a 40 minute walk through Parque Forestal learning about the evolution of Chile from independence to current day together with discovering some of the hidden secrets in the area en route to my home for fresh coffee/tea and home made sweet and savory pastries. We then head off for a gentle hours or so walk through Barrio Italia learning about its history and charm from antique restoration workshops to trendy design. local market and specialty shops. Drinks and lunch will be a relaxed affair "Al fresco" in the garden enjoying many of Chile’s products combined with my passion for spices. A typical summer menu might be :- Tapas or picoteo Chicken and courgettes meatballs with Chimichurri Choritzo coquetas Savory biscuits with Chilean cheeses and spiced chutney The main event Pan fried salmon and shrimps with a spiced noodle, avocado, herb and pistachio salad Cafe gourmand Blackberry and rosemary ice cream, summer fruit compote, rose leaf meringue Coffee/tea Lunch will finish at about 3.30 when you can further explore Barrio Italia if you wish.
