Upon arrival you will be given a complimentary glass of fizz, you will meet any other guests attending, then take a seat in the dinning room, with views out to the fields and hills beyond. You will also be able to see our sheep, horses, Donkey (Albert) ducks and chickens. The meal with be 3 courses, starter for example ham hock pate, then the main course, of, for example roast lamb, or chicken with tarragon and cream. Pudding to follow of, for example plum crumble or meringues and cream. Whilst here I can suggest ideas of what to see and do whilst staying in the Lake District. You are welcome to bring your own wine or beer. I will provide juice and water during the meal. Of course vegetarian and vegan meals can be organised with advanced notice. I can also help to organise a taxi home at the end of the evening if required.
I live in a cottage in the Lake District, lots of friends and family love to visit, and I love to cook for them whilst they are here, so I have decided to share my home and culinary skills and create dinner parties where up to 10 people can come and join me and my partner David for an evening meal with views over the countryside and discussions on the Lake District and ideas on what to see and do whilst here. When away on holiday you sometime just fancy a home made meal, that is me, or when away in a new country you would like to try some local food. That is my aim, if we have lamb it will be from our Herdwick lambs who spend most of the year in the fields around the house. If it includes potatoes, they will be from my veg patch. If I have bought in some ingredients, my aim is for them to be from a local supplier.
Dinner including starters, main course and desert.
A glass of fizz will be provided on your arrival then juice and water with the meal Please feel free to bring your own wines…
The meal with be in my Lakeland cottage with views out to the fields with sheep, horses donkey, chickens all around.
