Discover what the food cart hype is all about in the city that put food cart pods on the map! Of the 700 food carts in Portland, we’ve narrowed it down to the top 1% for the city’s ultimate food cart experience. Let us take you around to several locally-ran and operated food carts, relax on patios in the heart of Southeast Portland, and taste the delicious foods that make Portland a true foodie destination. On this small-group walking tour you’ll discover global foods, quench your thirst with tasty drinks, and learn fun history in this off-the-beaten-path neighborhood. We like to think this is the perfect way to discover quirky Portland, eat where the locals eat, and have fun!
What to expect:
- Try hearty servings of food and beverages from 5-7 different food carts plus a brewery.
- Discover Portland’s historic, off-the-beaten-path Central Eastside neighborhood with your local guide and chat with food cart owners that you visit along the way.
- Start the afternoon in Portland's first food cart pod and taste Chapter 1 in Portland’s food cart saga: smothered fries.
- Try worldly food like Bavarian, Lebanese, Slavic, and Burmese delights.
- Interact with some of Portland’s famous colorful wall murals along our walk.
Other things to note
Face mask/covering are required on the tour at all times. Vegetarians can be accommodated. We do not recommend this tour if you have strict dietary restrictions. Please message us prior to booking with any questions. Kids not recommended, we visit a brewery. No pets. Tour takes place outdoors.

We'll spend the day outdoors together stopping at 6-8 total food/drink spots, including different food cart pods and a brewery. At each stop you'll learn about the owners of the food carts and what makes their food so special and unique to Portland. Along our walk through Portland's Central Eastside District, we'll talk about fun history and marvel at the neighborhood's quirky wall murals.

Had such a wonderful time eating the most amazing food with Michelle! She has incredible knowledge about the ingredients of each dish and how they’re made, as well as the history of each location. She personally knew all of the food cart owners and you really get the full experience. Learned so much on this tour and ate some seriously delicious food!

This was definitely fun! I think the best part was having the food selected as I would not have tried some of the things that we tried, just because I wouldn't have known. Talking to the cart vendors and getting some of the history was also fun. I was looking for something to take out of town guests to and this fit the bill perfectly - definitely a tase of Portland!

Delicious foods and all locations were super close to each other. I loved the history involved with the locations of the pods and that each pod was such a “Portland” vibe. I felt like I ate food from all over the world within a few blocks. Super clean food pods and interactions with incredibly friendly people!!

This was such a great tour of delicious food carts I never would have found on my own! We were in a pretty up and coming neighborhood and we visited such awesome hidden gems. One of my favorite things about the tour (besides the food of course) was learning all about how the food carts started and the history of the area. We ate sooooo much food and I was stuffed by the end! I highly recommend this tour if you want to eat a ton and try out multiple food carts in Portland!

Highly recommend this tour! Our tour guide Michelle was amazing and was super knowledgeable about the area and every place we ate at. The best part of the tour was obviously the food, which all unique all delicious! There seem to be many hidden places throughout the neighborhood, and we visited several of them. One of these places was an awesome brewery with a really cool patio and it was the perfect spot to hang out afterwards and enjoy the Portland scenery! Go on this tour, it’s great!

Wow, far exceeded my expectations. The amount of food is incredible, and the insight we got into each food cart and the neighborhood was so interesting. If I had gone alone I would have never been able to try so many things, and I literally want to go back to every single place. So good, highly recommended.
