Experience the unique wildlife habitats of the Broads National Park aboard a beautiful custom-built electric driven Edwardian-style launch. This quiet and gentle boat trip meanders along the River Bure, a typical stretch of river flanked by trees, reeds and waterside properties, which has been inspiring visitors since Victorian times and was the birthplace of the Broads boating holiday industry. Ron will help you to spot the wildlife; from damselflies and dragonflies to majestic herons stalking the waters edge and taking flight as you slowly pass by. You may also spot a colourful kingfisher darting between trees or a playful otter searching for fish in the water. Occasionally you may be treated to the sight of a snake skimming the surface of the water. Enjoy a picnic hamper of delicious local food & drink from the renowned Norfolk Mead Hotel. Savour the delicacies in the cosy lounge of the boat or whilst soaking up the late afternoon sunshine. This 2 hour experience is a great introduction to the delights of boating on the broads without the worry of negotiating the waterways yourself, so you are free to enjoy the scenery and wildlife whilst soaking up the knowledge from your expert guide. You will also receive a copy 'Still Waters', a book published in 2019 to celebrate 30 years of the Broads Authority that features stunning photography of the Broads National Park.
Hi, I'm Ron! I've been an employee of the Broads Authority for many years, during which time I've entertained thousands of guests & visitors on our trip boats. I have a wealth of extensive experience living and working on the Broads, which is invaluable and I can provide guests with a unique and informative insight into this very special National Park. No two trips are the same due to seasonal changes, weather conditions & wildlife appearances on the day. But whatever the circumstances, a memorable time will be had by all. For a long time I've wanted to offer a unique experience with more opportunities to witness the wildlife, explore further reaches of the Bure & to enjoy mouth watering food on the way. This Ranger Experience is the perfect way to cruise slowly through the Broads in the comfort & safety of an experienced boat handler.

The experience starts in Hoveton, a pretty village in the English county of Norfolk located within the Broads National Park. You will board 'Liana' the Edwardian-style launch in Hoveton and cruise slowly down the River Bure, which is the longest of the Broads rivers. Whilst Hoveton is north of the river, Wroxham is south; but many people refer to the whole settlement as "Wroxham".
