We take about 80 mile drive to this Oasis in Mojave desert. Once there, we get to explore the Ranch and Date Orchard, with a stream running through all the greenery with a beautiful backdrop of different colored rocks of Mojave Desert. The intensity of greenery and amount of water depends on the time of the year we visit.
We take about 2 mile round trip walk through the desert landscape that leads to Amargosa River. You'll be able to see part of history here. There are remnants of a railroad which connected Death Valley to the Ranch, which supplied food for the workers there. After we return back to the Ranch we take a quick 5 minute walk up a steep hill from which you'll have an amazing overview of the whole Ranch and Orchard.
Before we leave, you'll be able to purchase and taste all the goodies that farm has to offer. Different kinds of dates, date cookies, date shakes, honey etc. There's plenty of seating to just relax and enjoy it right there.
Depending on the season, there could be road closures due to road damage from rain and flash flood. Due to regulatory issues (crossing state lines) you have to provide your own transportation. SUV or truck is preferred, sedan will work also. We will caravan from our meeting place.

This experience is for anyone who has an adventurous side. Suitable for all ages. Length and difficulty of walk/hike can be adjusted to your preference. You will be required to sign Hold Harmless Agreement prior to the start of this experience.

Hi, I've lived in Las Vegas since 2006 and always enjoyed taking day trips and discovering known and less known places around town. I found out about this Oasis in Mojave Desert by accident few years ago and been visiting it multiple times a year ever since. Most people living in Vegas have no idea it's right there. When my cousin visited me, I took him there. After his 2 week long trip, full of the usual Vegas entertainment was over, he said that the trip to the Oasis was his favorite part. Nicola showed me Mojave desert. She loves the place we were visiting and told me many interesting things about the place. We went to China ranch, which is out of Las Vegas on a remote road. Nicola knew hiking trails near China ranch and me and Nicola were hiking on the trail. It was a superb day and the scenery was incredible unique. We also saw a river and small fishes and greenery near the river. Nicola brought me to the China Ranch to eat their good stuff cooked from dates. The China Ranch has dates and no trip to that place is complete without a superb date shake. We also saw old cars and old train tracks. This trip was special because I will not be able to go to that remote place by myself.
