You'll trek to a secluded beach spot (weather permitting) near Siesta Key (voted USA's #1 Beach!) This spot is very peaceful and never crowded! It is narrow, shelly, and pristine. To get there, a little adventurousness is required: you'll most likely have to walk on a (short, firm) concrete seawall, then wade through shallow water (possibly waist-deep, depending on the tide). You'll have time to bathe in the calm, pool-like ocean, walk over mossy rocks in the sea, find some of the most beautiful shells, and (if you're a little luckier) spot families of manatees! The rocks provide a great place of exploration for kids and nature lovers, with spectacular micro and macro marine life! The rocks are flat, smooth, and a little bit slippery in some places; a beach towel to relax and water shoes with good grip are recommended.
I'm a multilingual cosmopolitan American dad who's been visiting and living in beautiful Sarasota, Florida for 7 years. We'll go on a short trekking adventure to secluded stretches of beach around Siesta Key, where you'll have time to bathe in the calm, pool-like ocean. However, depending on the weather, we could explore a slightly different version on the #1 beach in the USA.
Bring sunscreen, beach towel to relax. Parking is usually very limited (an alleyway with 20 parking spaces). Best way to get there is by the local trolley, Lyft/Uber, bike or walking.
