Guests will be welcomed to Lemons Farm and taken up to our private orchard to be given a briefing on the apples, cider production and the local area. Guests will be able to select from number of apple varieties, pick, pulp, press and then pasteurise for apple juice or pack away for cider production and take their produce home with them. Guests will be treated to a ploughman's lunch (morning experiences) or afternoon tea (afternoon experiences). We will set guests off with a map of the orchard to pick their favourite varieties, then will guide them through the process of pulping and pressing and then bottling their juices. Guests can then either pasteurise their juice or receive instructions on how to ferment at home into scrumptious cider. The experience lasts three hours (around two hours to press and sample and then an hour for lunch/tea). Guests will be able to take home all the juice they are able to press during this time, either in their own bottles or in ours. There will be tea and coffee making facilities on site and guests will also be able to swill down their own freshly pressed juice. Our experience gives guests who don't have access to their own apples the opportunity to create their own home pressed juice or cider to take away all from a beautiful, traditional cider orchard.
Katherine And Tino
We are Katherine and Tino and we live and work at Lemons Farm hosting guests in our annex, glamping boat and apple pressing days. Since moving into our home in 2016, we have spent three Autumns in our orchard, picking, pressing and producing gallons of delicious apple juice and scrumptious cider. We have studied the traditional Devon cider production techniques, from the best apples to pick, through how to press them and filter, pasteurise and preserve the delicious juice. We have developed this knowledge to teaching friends and neighbours and we love sharing both our apples and expertise in a unique experience in our own orchard overlooking the beautiful Taw Valley. As Airbnb superhosts for the past three years, we love welcoming people to our beautiful home and sharing our traditional Devon lifestyle.
